Dragon Boat Festival and Veterans Fair
The 7th
Annual Lake Hernando Dragon Boat Festival is scheduled for Nov 6th.
Held at Hernando Park and Beach, at the intersection of Hwy 486 and Hwy
41, in Citrus County. The Festival kicks off at 8am and runs until
5pm. It offers racing live usic, shows, great food and drain, an

The
Festival will host a veteran's village and fair. In celebration of
Veterans Week local veterans' groups will have booths to promote their
organizations and provide information relevant to Veterans. There is
no charge for the fair and all veterans and the public are welcome to come
and get to know some great veterans organizations such as; VFWs, American
Legions, Marine Corps Leagues, Purple Heart, and many others. The
National Guard will have a vehicle display along with WWII vehicles.
The first 300 veterans will be given free event dog tags. Friend of the Festival, Elks Lodge 2522 located at the race site, will be hosting a 3 day open house in support of the dragon boat festival and honoring veterans. The Elks will have an Italian dinner on Friday, November 5th, with music, to start the festival. They will also be serving hot dogs and burgers all day long Saturday.
